Wanted: Alternatives to Oil

Which everything on earth going up as a result of the oil crisis, it is becoming more and more evident that sitting around and doing nothing in relation to alternative energy is getting us nowhere. Oil industries make too much money and lobby politicians and auto makers alike to avoid experimenting with and implementing alternative energy within our society. We have become as dependent on oil as we are on food, which also happens to be going up as a result of the oil companies greed. Well, oil companies, your wonderful cash flow will not be continuing for much longer. One of two things will happen: alternative energies will begin to be integrated into our society or the American economy will implode. While we continue complaining over raising fuel costs, the Brazilian government is continuing to implement a form of ethanol derived from sugar cane. Not only is this type of fuel easy to make, it is also cheap and very effective. Sugar cane ethanol avoids the costly effects of corn derived ethanol and is a solution to our own energy crisis. We ultimately have two options that face us: Address the energy issue now and develop alternatives to oil or literally suffer the consequences.
